SecureSuite Platform Installation returns "Error occurred getting the public IP address of your machine"

Problem

During installation of the SecureSuite Platform on Windows or Linux in an Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud or any other cloud environment that is not hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS), the following error message is displayed:

An error occurred getting the public IP address of your machine.

This error occurs on the mentioned platforms even if the instance has a public IP address assigned.

Solution

Per the SecureSuite Platform documentation, only AWS EC2 instances are currently supported for cloud deployments:

CIS tests and supports installations on AWS EC2 instances. You may encounter issues if you install the CIS SecureSuite Platform on other cloud providers.

Note that this issue does not occur for AWS or non-cloud deployments, such as an on-premise server or a VM on a physical Hyper-V host. Please submit interest in having these platforms tested & supported as a Feature Enhancement Request in our Support portal:
