What is the recommended backup strategy to make full image backups to ensure that the billingProducts field is properly preserved?
Solution
The preferred method would be to utilize full AMI backup to retain the marketPlaceProductCodes field for entitlement to the offer. Operating systems that utilize billingProducts field would also do so on a CIS image - for example, RedHat. In this case, if guidance received has been to utilize full AMI backup to retain billingProducts field on these instances/OS'es, it would be safe to say that is also the case on CIS images of the same Operating system.
