Solution
CIS preserves 3 versions of a CIS Hardened Image in a given offer for end user consumption. Every 90 days, the oldest version is deprecated from the respective marketplace and makes way for the most recently published monthly release. Only 3 versions are preserved in a given offer to align with security best practice of using the most up-to-date, patched and security compliant images.
To retain an image/AMI of a CIS Hardened Image that may be moving toward deprecation, please refer to the respective cloud service provider’s instructions on creating an image/AMI from an VM in that environment
