Quick Start Guide: CIS-CAT Centralized Workflow for Windows

Requirements

  • You will need to download CIS-CAT Pro Assessor v4 “with Java” from WorkBench to your hosting system - in this document CIS-CAT-Assessor-windows-GUI-jre-v4.36.0.zip is downloaded to a Windows server.

  • Download your CIS-CAT license zip file from WorkBench - see this information if you are not sure where to get your license file.

  • Administrator access to your CIS-CAT host server.

  • CIS-CAT Centralized workflow requires Java versions 8 or 11, which is included in the “with Java” download of Assessor v4 under the \jre folder.

Implementation Steps

  1. Create the directory C:\CIS

  2. Create the subdirectory C:\CIS\Reports

  3. Open File Explorer → right-click on the C:\CIS directory → Properties → Sharing → Share → Select the appropriate users → Share → Done → Apply. Make a note of the Network Path for later.

  5. Extract your downloaded license zip file into the C:\CIS\Assessor\license\ directory

  7. Open the C:\CIS\cis-cat-centralized.bat file in a text editor and in the line SET NetworkShare= replace NETWORK_SHARE with the Network Path from step 3, e.g. \\hostname\CIS
