These are the steps to gather diagnostic information to help troubleshoot CIS-CAT Pro Dashboard v3 issues.

Solution

For Windows systems, please compress and attach the following to your ticket:

  1. From the \Program Files[Dashboard installation directory]\CCPD directory

    • The ccpd-config.yml - located at \conf (feel free to obfuscate any passwords or IP's in this file before sending it to CIS)

    • The ciscatpro.log file - located at \logs\ccpdlogs (** see note below)

  2. Screen shots illustrating the problem and/or exact steps to reproduce

  3. If there is an upload problem with a CIS-CAT Pro Assessor assessment result, please attach a copy of the ARF.XML file you are uploading so we can try to reproduce the issue

Please note that \Program Files is the default installation directory, but users are given the choice to place it in the directory of their choice

    • The ccpd-config.yml - located at /conf (feel free to obfuscate any passwords or IP's in this file before sending it to CIS)

    • The ciscatpro.log file - located at /logs/ccpdlogs (** see note below)

Note

** To make sure you capture the most recent information in ciscatpro.log, it is suggested that you:

  1. Stop the CIS-CAT Pro Dashboard service using the Services Manager

  2. Remove all log files from the \CCPD\logs\ccpdlogs directory

  3. Restart the CIS-CAT Pro Dashboard service (it can take a few minutes for the service to restart)

  4. Recreate the problem you are seeing in Dashboard

  5. Zip up the fresh log from the \CCPD\logs\ccpdlogs directory
