Problem
Error with RDP connection to Windows Images
Solution
Please check the following settings
The client needs to have NTLMv2 authentication set - please note the RDP client must be able to authenticate using NTLMv2, as this is a recommendation set on the Hardened Image.
To properly RDP in, RDP port 3389 needs to be open
Please be sure your security groups and resource groups you are using for the deployment of this virtual machine allow RDP. Also please make sure the public inbound ports are properly configured.
Another issue could possibly be the password set for the VM. In conformance with our Benchmark recommendation, there may be a 14 character expectation for the password.
All CIS Windows Server Hardened Images have RDP enabled by default.
