Problem

Assessor hangs when scanning Linux targets with network share drives.

Systems with network share drives (e.g., NFS, CIFS, SMB) sometimes hang when Assessor runs the df -TP command during the assessment. This can occur if the network environment has a host/server failure or a stale mount drive.

The df command is used to display the free disc space of a specific file system.

Stale mount drives occur whenever a file or directory referenced by the handle is removed by another host while the client still holds an active reference to the object.

Solution

Unmount the network share drive, reboot, and re-scan.
