Problem

If we fill the excel sheet where all the controls are mentioned is there an option to upload it so all those fields will be automatically filled based on what we write in excel?

Solution

For instructions on how to create a blank excel spreadsheet, see this support article here

It is possible to export a excel file, made edits to it, and reimport the file. You must make sure valid values are filled out. To have the control show up on the exported excel file, you must set the control to “applicable”.

To start a new assessment from an excel file:

  1. Select the current assessment in the right hand corner

  2. Select End current assessment

  3. Select Start New Assessment Using File Upload

  4. Enter in the assessment name you would like in the first row

  5. In the second row select the critical control version which would be v8.0

If there are any errors with any of the controls, you will be informed immediately by CSAT with the following message:

Assessment has been created with warnings

Below that will be a breakdown of which controls failed:

Null response for Policy Defined in sub Control Number 17.3. Assessment Created

Which generally means that the syntax was not followed correctly.
