Problem
CIS-CAT Pro Assessor 4.x fails to begin Assessment with the message of "An error occurred creating the session for null@null:0 Ensure all session configuration information is correct".
Solution
One of the most common reasons we see this exact error is when attempting to assess a target that currently resides inside of a production OU. Existing GPOs can tamper with your actual level of Administration causing an Administrative session or an Administrative command prompt to falsely identify you as a non-admin user.
If the Target Endpoint is located in a production OU, we suggest moving it temporarily (or cloning and using the clone in the test OU - as befits your specific security guidelines and abilities to modify the AD) to a test OU which is free of all GPOs.
