Problem

I have noticed one or more “False Failures/ False Passes” when running CIS-CAT Pro Assessor against certain Fedora 28 based Linux Benchmarks.

Solution

The Fedora Linux 28 Family, which includes but is not limited to the following, are all in the process of being updated for their v2.1.0 release:

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8

  • Oracle Linux 8

  • Rocky Linux 8

  • Alma Linux OS 8

We anticipate this update to be released during Q3 of 2023. This update will include a fix for certain assessment “bugs”, as well as other updates, additions, and removals.

Please note that all product and Benchmark release dates are projections and are subject to change.

In the interim, you can elect to skip a check on the Benchmark Assessment to eliminate any of the false results. You can follow these steps to skip a check when running an CIS-CAT Pro assessment
