Problem

What are some Frequently Asked Questions for the updated SecureSuite Licensing Format?

Solution

Will the new license change require an entirely new SecureSuite Tool installation?

Yes. If you download and intend to use the SecureSuite License on or after November 17, 2023 with a licensed SecureSuite tool, you must also update the version of your tool to utilize the full functions of the tool.

If I don’t download a new version of my SecureSuite license, will new releases of CIS-CAT Pro Assessor, CSAT Pro, and CIS-CAT Pro Dashboard still work?

Yes, until April 1, 2024. Tool versions CSAT Pro v1.14+, CIS-CAT Pro Dashboard v3.3.0+, and CIS-CAT Pro Assessor v4.35.0+ support both the prior version of the SecureSuite License and version 2 of the license. However, versions of the SecureSuite Tools produced after April 1, 2024 will only support SecureSuite License v2. You’ll need to upgrade your tools for full tool functionality.

Will any data be lost?

No. The license change only effects the licensing validation system. The user action is just to update their software and apply the refreshed license.

Do you know what will happen if members don’t download/install the new key?  Will CSAT Pro or CIS-CAT Pro produce an error messages?

Offline licensing will continue to work with old versions of the software. However, no new features or security patches will be applied to their systems. We do not recommend this.
