CIS is implementing a price change for all CIS Hardened Images starting in January, 2025 with effective dates based on subscriber status.
CIS Hardened Images' prices are changing from $0.022 per compute hour to a range of $0.01-$0.06 per compute hour. On AWS, the instance type determines the price.
Implementation Timeline and Communications
The implementation is occurring in two phases:
Initiation of the price increases
For current subscribers, the price increases will take effect on May 1, 2025.
For new subscribers after the week of January 13, 2025 (exact date depends on the image), the new price increases are in effect immediately.
Implementation of the price decreases
For all subscribers, the decreased prices will be in effect the first full week of May 2025.
All existing customers received an email communication from AWS Marketplace that outlines only the price increases. This is only one part of the price changes that CIS is implementing and does not represent the price decreases that will be in effect the first week of May 2025.
If you wish to continue your subscription at the changed price, you do not need to take any additional steps. If you do not wish to pay this price, you can cancel your subscription at any time prior to the date by visiting the AWS documentation and following the steps provided.
