CSAT Pro Forgot Username/Password Option Not Working

Problem

CSAT Pro is configured for email, but the forgot username/password option is not sending the reset email, and the following error message appears in the csat log file: STARTTLS is required to send mail

Solution

  1. Stop the CSAT_Pro Windows service by navigating to the Windows Services Manager and click Stop

  2. Navigate to the C:\Program Files\CSAT_Pro\logs\csatlogs folder and search for the following error message: STARTTLS is required to send mail

  3. If the STARTTLS error message is present in the log file, then navigate to the C:\Program Files\CSAT_Pro\conf folder

  4. Open the csat-config.yml file

  5. Under the “mail" section, locate the following line: mail.smtp.starttls.enable:""

  6. Change this line to “true” in order to enable STARTTLS: mail.smtp.starttls.enable: "true"

7. Save the file

8. Restart the CSAT_Pro Windows service in Windows Service Manager
