Problem

I am unable to complete a remote Linux scan. The scan is getting stuck Collecting System Characteristics every time. The assessor-cli.log shows this error: RemoteExecSession --> Error initializing Sftp channel

Solution

Allow SFTP connections to be established between the CIS-CAT host and target. SFTP is required for remote Linux assessments. There is no workaround, other than performing a local Linux assessment.

SFTP uses port 22 by default
