Problem
How do consumers track the license consumption when using the CIS AMI ID in Terraform or Packer automation?
Relative to this question and tracking. The CSPs are responsible for tracking and reporting usage and licensing. CIS does not provide any reporting to customers. This may be a question to reach out to your specific CSP for more detail around their exact tracking process.
Would consumers be charged 1 license or for all the instances which are based on the Custom AMI?
For example, if we make 50-60 licensed AMIs using AWS/ Packer does this mean we'll be paying the cost of 50-60 licensed AMIs?
Replicating a CIS-Hardened Image on AWS does not stop it from being a CIS made image which has been duplicated into AWS.
