Problem

Are there any additional resources available as I begin to apply the CIS Microsoft Intune for Windows 10 and 11 Build Kits?

Solution

The CIS Microsoft Intune for Windows 10 and 11 Build Kits include the following documents to assist with implementation:

  1. Microsoft Intune Windows Read Me – This document includes:

    1. A summary of the coverage of the CIS Microsoft Intune for Windows Build Kits

    2. Instructions on applying the CIS Build Kits for both automated and manual recommendations

  2. Build Kit Recommendation Breakout_Windows_10 – Outline of the file names within the Build Kit compared to CIS Recommendations and Profiles.

  3. Build Kit Recommendation Breakout_Windows_11 – Outline of the file names within the Build Kit compared to CIS Recommendations and Profiles.

  4. Intune to Group Policy mappings – The mapping document is on CIS WorkBench so that CIS SecureSuite Members can map the new CIS Microsoft Intune for Windows Benchmark Build Kits back to the old CIS Microsoft Intune for Windows Benchmarks versions (v2.0.0 - partially) and also the comparable on-prem CIS Microsoft Windows 10 or 11 Benchmarks (v3.0.0 - fully).

Reviewing the Microsoft Intune Windows Build Kit Read Me file included in the zip file and the content within the corresponding Benchmark PDF is imperative for an overall successful application of the Build Kit. The corresponding Benchmark PDF will allow you to make note of any settings that your organization needs to exempt itself from, due to unique operational requirements.
